Sayings of Swami Vivekananda

I want to share a few sayings of Swami Vivekananda given to me by Aniket..

Fill the brain with high thoughts, highest ideals, place them day and night before you, and out of that will come great work.

If there is one word that you find coming out like a bomb from the Upanishads, bursting like a bombshell upon masses of ignorance, it is the word “fearlessness.”

The best guide in life is strength. In religion, as in all other matters, discard everything that weakens you, have nothing to do with it.

If you want to have life, you have to die every moment for it. Life and death are only different expressions of the same thing looked at from different standpoints; they are the falling and the rising of the same wave, and the two form one whole.

Karma is the eternal assertion of human freedom. If we can bring ourselves down by our karma, surely it is in our power to raise ourselves by our own karma.

This is the great lesson that we are here to learn through myriads of births and heavens and hells—that there is nothing to be asked for, desired for, beyond one’s spiritual Self (atman).

Come out into the universe of Light. Everything in the universe is yours, stretch out your arms and embrace it with love. If you every felt you wanted to do that, you have felt God.

Come out into the broad light of day, come out from the little narrow paths, for how can the infinite soul rest content to live and die in small ruts?

Be a hero. Always say, “I have no fear.” Tell this to everyone—“Have no fear.”
Fill the brain with high thoughts, highest ideals, place them day and night before you, and out of that will come great work.

Do not look back upon what has been done. Go ahead!

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, that is way great spiritual giants are produced.”

Never think there is anything impossible for the soul. It is the greatest heresy to think so. If there is sin, this is the only sin ? to say that you are weak, or others are weak.”

What is a Secret?

How will you define a “Secret”?

We generally term Secret as something that an individual does not tell/convey to us. Proper definition of a Secret goes like this - not open or public; kept private or not revealed. Like this there are many definitions over the web for Secret. The point is that I am not writing this to write all the definitions of the Word Secret.

The point is how we take this; I mean how do we take Secrets from various individuals. How do we react to that – ‘Secrets’? Generally we say:

Oh this man is a man of secrets man, does not open up!
Or
U and ur secrets!
Or
Who knows what do u do in ur secret life han!
Or
You are very secretive yar, that’s the problem!

And many more.Basically we generally take it in a negative manner..Right??

We never think why a Secret is a Secret! I mean why someone who has kept something Secret has kept that Secret. Though there could be lot of reasons of keeping Secrets and I am not writing a bible on that here. But lot of times according to me Secret is something that “cannot” be shared. Secret is an information which is not made public, sometimes not even to your closest ones, because you know that if its made public, it will not be taken in the right spirit, there will be reactions- bad reactions. Most importantly person who keeps secrets keeps them because he is aware that this secret being public will not prove good for him or for people around.

According to what I said above, a Secret actually saves a lot of good!

Well this was just one side of the story, but Secrets can be used for mean actions or objectives as well, but still the concept remains same- Secret spoken means, asking for trouble. Hence Secrets sometimes, saves this World should I say? What do you say?

Zallaq Beach - Getting Worse!!

hey i am back after a while...
enjoying Eid Holidays?? thinking of going to Zallaq beach?? ..don’t even think about it. Postpone it to some future day-some working day. But don’t go in Holidays, especially if you are with Family.Zallaq has lost its charm over the past few years. And its one of the worst places to be in Bahrain-specially in a public holiday.

I was mistakenly there a couple of days back with my friends. Our group had guys, a kid and a girl. We wanted to be there during sunlight, but when we reached there, all we could feel is why are we here...

The beach was full of 100s of people, probably more than a thousand i guess. There was no place to really sit in a peace and enjoy the seashore. And the worst thing is the kind of crowd that was there. There were few families and most of them are guys from Asian countries, including my India.

30 minutes that we were there, we were gazed upon as if some kind of a movie is running over there. Whosoever looked, actually scanned from top to bottom. And thats not the end of it, we were actually kinda pushed to our limits as well.

We decided to leave from there and while in the car on the way back, i managed to see the worst. I actually saw lot of them actually pissing and shitting in public. I am not exaggerating!!!

I would prefer to sit home and watch a nice video rather than being in Zallaq for some time now!!
